North Carolina Cares about the Health of its Residents
The Division of Public Health has developed various websites to meet the needs
of North Carolina residents, as well as those living outside the "Tar
Heel State." The servers housed at the State Center for Health Statistics,
are home to some of those websites. Each site offers different types of information
to the public - meaning you!
- State Center for Health Statistics
- The State Center provides access to high quality
health data and statistical publications being used to make decisions and
set policies that influence the health of our citizens and their communities.
- Epidemiology in North Carolina
- Epidemiology is the section of
public health that works to understand the causes and effects of disease
in communities. We look for ways to prevent or control those diseases and
their negative effects on people and society.
- Office of Minority Health
and Health Disparities
- The Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (OMHHD) and the Minority
Health Advisory Council (MHAC) strive to bridge the health status gap between
racial/ ethnic minorities and the general population by advocating for policies
and programs that improve access to public health services for racial/ethnic
and underserved populations in the state of North Carolina.
- North Carolina Vital Records
- North Carolina Vital Records is responsible for registering all births,
deaths, fetal deaths, marriages, and divorces which occur in North Carolina,
coding those events for statistical research purposes, maintaining the records
properly, and locating and providing certified or uncertified copies of those
records.
- Together We Grow
- North Carolina Early Intervention Services for young children with special
needs, aged birth to five years.
